Analogues of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) have been created that retain some properties while removing others. Only the first 29 amino acid chain of GHRH make up CJC-1295. Scientific research has found it is easier to generate in large numbers than GHRH, this counterpart of GHRH retains GHRH’s physiological properties while being easier to manufacture. hGRF (1-29) was designed to create a more soluble GH secretagogue that retains GHRH’s physiological effects.

CJC-1295 DAC vs. CJC-1295

GHRH analogues such as Sermorelin are modified versions of the first 29 amino acids of GHRH. However, it is not the same as modified GRF (1-29). Also, CJC-1295 was initially manufactured with an extra chemical substance called a drug affinity complex (DAC).

The lysine linker adds DAC to the molecule to protect it while it circulates. It enables CJC-1295 to have a longer half-life than GRF by allowing peptides to attach to albumin (1-29)

Research

Growth Hormone

As a GHRH derivative, CJC-1295 stimulates GH release. In an animal study, a single dose of CJC-1295 DAC increased GH levels in mice by 2–10 fold [1]. Results showed that peak GH levels occurred two hours after treatment and lasted six days. Unlike other GHRH peptides, CJC-1295 DAC preserved normal GH secretion[1]. The results suggest that CJC 1295 is a physiological growth hormone-releasing factor with regular circadian peaks and troughs.

It is crucial to keep GH levels steady and control the maximum amount of GH in the blood to get the most out of the effects without worsening the bad ones. Furthermore, CJC-1295 has been shown to sustain the growth hormone’s physiologic effects on myocardial (heart cell) function and hyperplasia [2].
